Over the last few seasons, Napheesa Collier has become one of the best players in the WNBA and is a superstar in women's basketball. Now, she is being paid like one.

After hitting free agency following the WNBA's groundbreaking new CBA agreement this offseason, Collier is staying in Minnesota on a one-year, $1.4 million supermax contract, according to Kendra Andrews of ESPN.
Collier is recovering from offseason surgery on both of her ankles after a left ankle injury ended her WNBA playoff run early in the semifinals against the Connecticut Sun .
Collier ascended to superstardom back in 2023 and has finished in the top five of the MVP voting in each of the last three seasons. In those three years, Collier has been named an All-Defense performer and won the Defensive Player of the Year award in 2024 before leading the Lynx all the way to the WNBA Finals.
Collier has always been a talented player since coming out of UConn, but her production has soared in the last few seasons as she has built up an argument as maybe the best player in the WNBA. This past season, Collier notched career-highs in points per game (22.9) and blocks per game (1.5) while also notching 7.3 rebounds a night. She was one of the best scorers in the WNBA on a very efficient clip, shooting 53.1% from the floor and 40.3% from the 3-point line.

The Lynx have become one of the best teams in the WNBA during Collier's ascension, reaching the WNBA Finals in 2024 before falling in the semifinals in 2025. Now, Collier is back for another year in Minnesota as she chases that elusive WNBA Championship.
The Lynx have had an eventful offseason that has included the loss of a number of key contributors. Alanna Smith , DiJonai Carrington and Bridget Carleton are all gone, while Minnesota spent to re-sign Courtney Williams and Kayla McBride . That core, along with No. 2 overall pick Olivia Miles, will be a formidable one once Collier is healthy and back on the floor.
