10:13 PM ET, August 22 2026, Alex Daugherty
Columbus takes a 2-1 lead at the 67th minute on a gorgeous free kick by Andre Gomes. A harsh foul by Eddi Tagseth gave Columbus a perfect angle on the Nashville net and Gomes did not miss. His shot bent around the four-man wall and into the Nashville net with Schwake getting a slight touch of the ball.
This has been a disastrous run of play for Nashville, who have seen their 1-0 halftime lead disappear quickly.

Hany Mukhtar's goal at the 27th minute has Nashville SC up 1-0 over Columbus at halftime.
Other than the Mukhtar goal — which was sensational andabsolutely worth watchingif you haven't seen it yet — not much happened at either end. Columbus created only one shot and, to be honest, it's hard to remember what it even looked like. Nashville's chances were only marginally better, outside of the Mukhtar goal, which was one of the best goals at Geodis Park this season.

Hany Mukhtar's goal puts Nashville SC up 1-0
09:13 PM ET, August 22 2026, Alex Daugherty
Out of nowhere, Hany Mukhtar puts Nashville up 1-0. With a defender draped on his back, he volleys a shot around Schulte and into the Columbus net. Another incredible individual effort from Mukhtar, his ninth goal of the season.
Full credit toDaniel Lovitzfor the probing pass into the box. Initially it didn't look that dangerous, but Mukhtar didn't need much space.
Nashville, Columbus scoreless after 20 minutes
09:00 PM ET, August 22 2026, Alex Daugherty
Early play has been a tad sloppy. Columbus had some early possession, but didn't do much with it. Nashville's touches were more purposeful, but still nothing to really test Crew goalkeeper Patrick Schulte. The best chance so far was a through ball by Mukhtar into Espinoza on the wing, but Espinoza's return ball to the penalty area went nowhere.
