Nate Landman forces a lot of fumbles at the NFL level. He's tied with TJ Watt for the most forced fumbled since 2024, and Landman darn near added to his fumble forcing legacy further last Monday night.
Instead, the Rams lost, so maybe he didn't add to any legacy, but Landman still did force a fumble and Landman almost put his team in a position to win the game. Legacy can be subjective.
Landman said after the game he would've liked to have made a few more plays, but he also made a play that could've led to a win for his team. He's done it more than once.
" Los Angeles Rams linebacker Nate Landman has a nose for the football, and his "peanut punch" has jarred the ball loose from players' hands time and time again. Monday night was no different, as Landman forced two fumbles on All-Pro running back James Cook, one of which was recovered by Aaron Donald.
While the team was unable to jump on another loose ball, Landman's prevalent skill has him with 10 forced fumbles since 2024. According to Sumer Sports , that's tied with Pittsburgh Steelers star TJ Watt for the most in that span."
"Through the first five weeks of the season, the Rams have had problems on special teams, primarily with the kicking operation. Heading into Monday's game, Mevis was still just 5-for-7 and had a miss from 48 yards last week against the Eagles. In Monday night's loss, Mevis missed from 50 yards and also had a potential game-winning kick blocked in overtime.
While Mevis brought some stability to the kicking operation last season, there were always questions about his range. Mevis had been perfect with extra points and 19-for-20 inside of 45 yards. However, beyond 45 yards is where Mevis lacked consistency , and in today's NFL, teams need a kicker who can hit from range when called upon."
"In the kicking game, especially with our PAT, field goal, not even close to good enough," McVay said. "It cost us the game tonight."
The Rams have had three blocked field goal attempts since the start of last season, tied for the most in the NFL, according to ESPN Research. Los Angeles has had 81 missed or blocked kicks under McVay (since 2017, including playoffs), which is third most in the league."
"Just in: Rams LT Alaric Jackson has been suspended 2 games for punching Bradley Chubb after their game on Monday night," The 33rd Team's Ari Meirov wrote on his official X account on Tuesday. "LA won't have Jackson in Week 6 vs. Arizona and Week 7 vs Las Vegas."
"NFL punishes Rams' Alaric Jackson for two games for punching Bills' Bradley Chubb after the game ended as Chubb walked away, an 'aggressive, non-football act entirely unwarranted, league informed Jackson in a disciplinary letter, per a source. Suspension ends after Rams Oct. 25 game vs. Raiders," NFL reporter Aaron Wilson wrote on his official X account on Tuesday."
"Los Angeles Rams offensive lineman Alaric Jackson is suspended for two games without pay after hitting Buffalo Bills linebacker Bradley Chubb."
"Five weeks into the 2026 NFL campaign, three teams remain undefeated and three squads have yet to log a win. Not sure many folks envisioned the Vikings being 5-0 or the Chargers being 0-5, but here we are. Every season brings surprises — that's basically the key to this league's popularity — and Week 5 certainly provided unexpected developments, including a few inexplicable finishes.
So, how does the NFL hierarchy shake out after a week full of road wins? That's the job in these here parts, and it's a gig that demands viewing each situation in the micro and the macro before ultimately making decisions with conviction. Kind of like managing a football game. We saw some head coaches fail in that undertaking over the past few days. Hopefully, I acquit myself better here."
"Buffalo capitalized on the extra possession, with Tyler Bass connecting on a 45-yard field goal of his own to finally end it.
"In the kicking game, especially with our PAT, field goal, not even close to good enough," McVay said . "It cost us the game tonight." He went further, second-guessing his own fourth-quarter decision-making as well.
"I wish I would have had a better play call and gone for it, got it tighter," he added, referring to a conservative third-down call that set up the eventual blocked attempt rather than pushing for better field position first."
" Hired former Rams offensive coordinator Mike LaFleur as their new head coach on Feb. 1:A familiar name for Rams fans from the previous three seasons, LaFleur agreed to a five-year contract with Arizona to become the franchise's next head coach after it moved on from Jonathan Gannon on Jan. 5.
Selected former Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love with the No. 4 overall pick in this year's draft:While Love has shared carries with veteran Tyler Allegeier – Love said last week the Cardinals' coaches are managing his workload – he's still the team's leading rusher with 67 carries for 245 yards, with one rushing touchdown on the season."
" Each week, TheRams.com will be taking an aggregate look at where the team ranks across different outlets in the sports media landscape. Here are the power rankings for the Rams heading into Week 6: "
"His first miss was on a 50-yarder during the Rams' opening drive, which allowed the Bills to keep a 3-0 lead. Mevis connected on his next four extra-point attempts, but disaster struck again when Buffalo's Gregory Rousseau blocked his 48-yard game-winning try in overtime. That kicking misadventure was as much on Los Angeles' linemen letting Rousseau surge through as it was on Mevis, but the ball's trajectory did appear a bit low and to the left.
Grupe, 27, was claimed off waivers by New York following August's roster cutdown day, but was moved to the practice squad and did not kick for the Jets this season. He previously played for the Saints and Colts, and sports an 81.9 field-goal percentage with 98.0% accuracy on extra points over three seasons.
The responsibility now falls to him to help rectify Los Angeles' kicking woes."
"This disaster/joke of a year can't end any sooner. This has been the worst season of football I've seen so far. I realistically gave up on the super bowl happening like most fans, this season appears already over. Losses like yesterday sink a season, the team is going to be demoralized. Seems McVay is starting to lose the locker room." -STLRAMFAN27
"I don't get why teams are so cheap with kickers. Think of how many games are won or lost by a missed or made FG, yet teams will spend draft capital and money on some rotation DL and cheap out on kickers. A good kicker is worth his weight in gold but the prevailing attitude is that teams can just pick up some scrub kicker off the waiver wire, or off the street, and he'll kick well. In his prime, Justin Tucker was a huge advantage for the Ravens. You would think teams would gladly use a high round pick to get a great kicker, and pay him what that's worth, but it doesn't often work that way and we have seen how costly that has been for the Rams." -KyrenW
