The Chicago Bulls have some big decisions to make as free agency looms in the NBA on Tuesday evening. The Bulls have already been linked to Miami Heat guard Norman Powell as a potential signing just days after selecting Caleb Wilson number four overall in the NBA Draft.
Now, more information is coming to light on additional targets the Bulls have both in the trade and free agency markets.
"…also keep an eye on Cleveland with a Max Strus trade. Powell is a FA, while Strus has a year left at $16.6 million with the Cavs in the second apron. He's always wanted to be a Bull," reported Joe Cowley on X, formerly Twitter.
Strus missed most of the 2025-26 season for Cleveland before returning late and having an up and down playoff run during the Cavs' march to the Eastern Conference Finals.
Marc Stein and Jake Fischer also reported on a free agent target that the Bulls could pursue.
"…The Bulls are likewise expected to show interest in Jonathan Kuminga after Atlanta proved unable to find a workable Kuminga trade Monday," they reported on Stein's Substack.
Kuminga became a free agent after the Atlanta Hawks declined his team option on Monday. The former lottery pick joined the Hawks via a trade from the Golden State Warriors last year and had a mixed bag of a tenure with the team. However, he would certainly fit the timeline of a rebuilding Bulls team as they look to take a step into the future.
While the Bulls are still in dire need of some frontcourt depth, the team has plenty of options to improve on the wings over the next few days as the NBA offseason heats up.
