The Wizards are reportedly interested in trading for Young, according to NBA insider Marc Stein.
"The Wizards have emerged as a legitimate potential trade destination for Atlanta's Trae Young ," Stein reported. "In a deal construction centered around CJ McCollum 's expiring contract."
Young has played in only 10 games for the Hawks this season.
Trae Young is reportedly 'open-minded' about a trade
After Hawks guard Trae Young addressed trade rumors with a cryptic post , a new report suggested the veteran isn't requesting a trade, but is open to the possibility. It's another sign of Young's eventual exit ; however, neither side appears to be in a hurry for a change, according to ESPN's Marc Spears.

"I hear he's trying to be really careful about this. This is a guy who saw Kevin Durant leave Oklahoma City as a kid, and saw how that was, and he wants to continue to have a connection with Atlanta," Spears said. "So, I don't think he's asking for a trade, but I don't think he's telling them not to trade him. I'm hearing he's open-minded to being moved. He and Porzingis still haven't really played much together. We still don't really know what that looks like.
"But without an extension, with Trae being blamed for a lot of the things — fair or unfair — I do think he'd certainly be open-minded to a new uniform."
While other teams rumored to be interested in a potential deal for Young could pop up in the next 48 hours, the Wizards are the first.
