The NC State Wolfpack dominated North Carolina from the start Tuesday in Raleigh. The Tar Heels shot a measly 32% from the field and 15% from the 3-point line, and the Wolfpack took advantage.
NC State's 82-58 win was the largest margin of victory by the Wolfpack against the Tar Heels since 1962. As the Wolfpack celebrated after the game, things appeared to get a little chippy. At least vocally.
NC State's Quadir Copeland was seen talking to the UNC bench after the handshake line. We couldn't catch what he was saying on camera, but we later learned his comments were directed at star freshman Caleb Wilson.
Per Noah Weiskopf , Copeland told Wilson to "lace up next time" in the handshake line. Wilson missed his second straight game with a hand fracture, and he's wearing a brace.
Look, the trash talk is fun. NC State deserves to celebrate and Copeland had a big game; he scored 20 points to lead all scorers. But saying that is a little odd because Wilson is legitimately hurt and likely would have played if it was up to him.
These two teams aren't scheduled to meet again this regular season. If they do face each other in the ACC Tournament and Wilson is healthy, I imagine he will use this as motivation.
