Offensive line play is incredibly important, especially with the modern NFL shifting to a more offense-centric league. With that said, it can be tough for fans to evaluate offensive linemen since their contributions don't show up in the box score.

There are several factors weighing into the Houston Texans starting the year at 0-3, and poor offensive line play is certainly one of them. They've got serviceable play out of interior linemen Evan Brown and Wyatt Teller , but tackles Aireontae Ersery and Trent Brown have struggled, with Ersery and guard Keylan Rutledge both posting bottom-ten scores among all NFL offensive linemen.
The Miami Dolphins have gotten strong play out of center Aaron Brewer, who remains one of the best at his position in the NFL. However, their 61.1 pass-blocking score as a unit is the worst in the league going into Week 4. Both Jonah Savaiinaea and Kadyn Proctor rank outside of the top 110 offensive linemen out of 166 qualified blockers, while Austin Jackson has the fourth-lowest PFN OL Impact grade for an offensive tackle.

Though the Cleveland Browns spent a lot of money on their offensive line this offseason, the early returns haven't been great. Elgton Jenkins and Austin Barber have played well to start the year, but right tackle Tytus Howard has taken a massive step back from his strong 2025 campaign, and left tackle Spencer Fano is taking some lumps in his rookie year.
Both of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' starting guards, Cody Mauch and Ben Bredeson , rank in the bottom five at the position out of 67 qualified players, with Mauch's 62.5 score being the worst. The Buccaneers haven't been able to rely on great play from All-Pro tackle Tristan Wirfs , as he ranks just No. 50 among 67 qualified tackles.
Damien Lewis is off to a phenomenal start for the Carolina Panthers this year, but the rest of their offensive line has been subpar. He comes in as the No. 7 offensive lineman in the NFL after Week 3, but nobody else on the Panthers even ranks in the top 130. That's a massive discrepancy that weighs this unit down.
The San Francisco 49ers have had a top-ten offensive line in the NFL by PFN OL Impact grading in five of the last six years, and they're on pace to keep that streak going in 2026. None of their starting offensive linemen grade outside of the top 60 in the league, with right tackle Colton McKivitz leading the way with an 81.0 grade.
After finishing in second among all NFL centers in PFN OL Impact grading in 2025, Ryan Neuzil currently ranks third in the metric in 2026. He's been the top grader for the Atlanta Falcons, which says a lot, considering how well guards Chris Lindstrom and Matthew Bergeron have played. The team's tackle tandem leaves a lot to be desired, but Atlanta's interior might be the best in the NFL.
So far this season, the New Orleans Saints' passing attack has been tremendous. Though Tyler Shough and their pass-catching weapons have received a lot of the praise, their offensive line has been playing at a high level, too. Their interior offensive line has been particularly reliable, as David Edwards, Cesar Ruiz , and Erik McCoy all rank as above-average starters at their respective positions.
PREDICT THE NFL SEASON: PFN's Free NFL Playoff Predictor
Despite starting the year off at 1-2, the Arizona Cardinals have arguably been more competitive than many anticipated going into the season. Part of that comes down to their offensive line, which has done a good job of protecting quarterback Jacoby Brissett so far this season. Paris Johnson Jr. ranks sixth among all offensive tackles with an 82.0 PFN OL Impact grade, while center Hjalte Froholdt and guard Isaac Seumalo have both been above-average starters.
The Detroit Lions' offensive line wasn't bad in 2025, but it certainly didn't live up to expectations. The group has seemingly bounced back through the first few weeks of this season, as it grades as one of the NFL's best offensive lines. Guard Tate Ratledge ranks second among all guards and fourth in overall PFN OL Impact grading, and Juice Scruggs has been a pleasant surprise as the No. 3 center in the league thus far.
