The Arizona Cardinals could have a difficult decision to make ahead of the NFL trade deadline, with longtime safety Budda Baker emerging as a potential trade candidate. Despite spending his entire career in Arizona, the continued losing could open the door for contenders such as the Buffalo Bills and Jacksonville Jaguars to explore a deal.

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reported that Baker remains on his radar as a possible trade target . Fowler noted that Baker has been a Cardinals lifer and would be difficult for the organization to move. However, the team's struggles have reportedly weighed on the veteran safety, potentially giving other teams an opportunity to pursue him.
Both Buffalo and Jacksonville could use another proven defensive playmaker as they look to strengthen their rosters for a playoff push. Baker would bring experience, leadership and versatility to either secondary. For Arizona, though, trading one of its most recognizable players would be another indication that the organization is prioritizing its future over immediate results.

Baker is not the only Cardinals player attracting attention. Fowler also reported that Josh Sweat has been linked to the Dallas Cowboys, who could still be looking for help along the edge. However, Sweat's contract situation could complicate a potential trade. The defensive end reportedly prefers a new deal as part of a trade or some type of financial adjustment to his current salary. He is in the second year of a four-year, $76 million contract, making that request a possible obstacle for interested teams.

Quarterback Jacoby Brissett is another name to monitor. Fowler reported that Brissett signed a reworked contract in August while understanding that a midseason trade was a possibility. With Arizona's roster still in a transitional state, a change at quarterback was always on the table. Fowler added that Brissett would welcome a change and that broader discussions have already taken place.

The Cardinals now have several decisions to make before the deadline. Baker's situation could be the most difficult, given his connection to the organization, but Buffalo and Jacksonville have a reason to at least explore whether Arizona would consider moving him.
