After a challenging defensive performance on Monday Night Football against the Chicago Bears , the Philadelphia Eagles took quick action to strengthen their secondary by officially signing veteran defensive back Kenny Moore II to their active 53-man roster . Although the Eagles already have a crowded interior defensive backfield with players like Cooper DeJean and Michael Carter II , promoting the experienced slot specialist from the practice squad initially raised questions about how he would be used.

Behind the scenes, however, personnel decisions were significantly influenced by pressure from a division rival. An ESPN report by Jeremy Fowler disclosed that the Dallas Cowboys had considered signing Kenny Moore II directly off the Eagles' practice squad after conducting a veteran workout session to address their own early-season defensive injuries and sluggish start. Sensing that their NFC East rival was interested in the veteran corner, the Eagles chose to elevate Moore to the active roster that same day to prevent him from signing with Dallas.
The Cowboys are currently seeking defensive solutions after a slow start, which has seen their talented front struggle to generate pressure, leaving them vulnerable and in need of reinforcements. By proactively securing Moore on the 53-man roster, the Eagles ensured that a proven playmaker didn't end up with a rival team.
