Joakim Noah and Tony Parker shared plenty of big moments with the French national team, including a silver-medal run at EuroBasket 2011 that helped send Les Bleus to the London Olympics.
Fifteen years later, the two reunited in France when Noah visited Parker at his home in Charly, just south of Lyon. And if Noah thought Tony's floaters were ridiculous during his NBA days, the house might have topped them.
"I've seen some crazy houses in my life. But Tony has a nightclub and underground tunnel in his chateau…A nightclub in the house. Come on, TP," said Noah.
Tony's been busy with his interests in France
Since his retirement in 2014, Parker has split his time between the United States and his home country. But with Tony now hands-on and seemingly very serious with his role with ASVEL and busy with his Tony Parker Adéquat Academy in Lyon, he's been in France more often.
A couple of years back, around 2020 to 2023, he bought the property in Charly and just like Parker's properties in the United States, it's nothing short of impressive with its amenities. He was excited to give his ex-teammate a tour.
"I'm going to show you the tunnel, and you're going to see some crazy stuff in there," said Parker.
Spurs legend
Parker played a total of 18 years in the NBA, including 17 for the Spurs. According to Sportrac, he made a total of $165 million during that span, the bulk of which came from his six-year, $66 million rookie-scale extension.
Upon seeing TP's Lyon house, Joakim reminded aspiring basketball players that they don't necessarily have to be knockdown 3-point shooters like Steph Curry to make it big and make big money in the NBA.
"This is for all the kids out there. You see what floaters can get you, man? This guy wasn't shooting 3's, I'll tell you that….This might be the most beautiful house I've ever seen," said Yoakim.
Parker owned a San Antonio nightclub
Back during his playing days, Parker was known as a heavy partygoer. And it was no surprise that in February 2012, he and his brothers, TJ and Pierre, established an upscale nightclub called Nueve Lounge. The business, though, did not last long as it closed its doors the following year. But TP brought it back to his new house.
"So remember, I used to have a club in San Antonio with my brothers? So we brought it back," remarked Parker.
And so it's no coincidence that the club inside Tony's house is also dubbed the Nueve Lounge. In a recent interview, Parker said he hosts parties there at least twice a month, reliving his fun days in San Antonio. As they say, the party never stops.
