An ecstatic Braun did not hold back his emotion after the final whistle, giving Northwestern fans a battle cry for the rest of the season.
"All the credit to our players, all the glory to God… This place is electric right now," Braun said. "Why not us? We're gonna find out, but we're gonna take it one game at a time. But there's no doubt we can beat anyone on our schedule and we can be beat by anyone on our schedule, we just have to take it one game at a time."

Northwestern backed up Braun's confidence by dominating every inch of the field, especially in the trenches. The Wildcats generated a staggering 506 total yards of offense, powered by a ruthless ground attack that racked up 413 rushing yards. Running back Caleb Komolafe led the assault with a career-high 188 rushing yards and a touchdown on 25 carries.

Running back Joseph Himon II proved equally lethal, ripping off 162 rushing yards and two touchdowns on just 10 carries. Meanwhile, Northwestern's defense suffocated Penn State's offense from start to finish. The Wildcats restricted Penn State to a meager 48 rushing yards on 22 attempts.

Safety Robert Fitzgerald and linebacker Braydon Brus each intercepted Penn State quarterback Rocco Becht, halting momentum and keeping the Nittany Lions out of rhythm all night. By overpowering a traditional Big Ten powerhouse on national television, Northwestern proved its physical style can disrupt any opponent's game plan. If Braun's squad continues to control the line of scrimmage, Wildcats fans will gladly embrace the "Why not us?" mindset for weeks to come.
