It is a loan with option to buy, which becomes an obligation if certain easy to achieve conditions are met.
The total cost is expected to be in the region of €22m plus a further €3m in add-ons , while Udinese will retain a 10 per cent cut of the future sale fee.
Kristensen came to Serie A for Udinese in 2023, making the transfer from Aarhus for around €5m.
Now 24, he went on to make 81 appearances for the Friulani, scoring four goals and providing one assist.
The Denmark international comes to Atalanta as the replacement for Berat Djimsiti , who ended his decade-long tenure in Bergamo for a new experience with Al-Diriyah FC.
