The No. 1 Ohio State Buckeyes are set to take on the No. 4 Texas Longhorns in one of the biggest matchups of the season. With the game quickly approaching, Ryan Day and his Buckeyes received some good news that should help them take on the Longhorns.
Reports indicate that edge rusher Qua Russaw will make his 2026-27 season debut on Saturday, according to Pete Nakos of On3 Sports. Although he was dressed down for the 56-3 Week 1 win over the Ball State Cardinals, Russaw was not cleared to see action. Ohio State also announced that wide receiver Kyle Parker is not likely to play against Texas.
"Sources tell On3 that Alabama transfer EDGE Qua Russaw has been cleared and will play Saturday at Texas," Nakos wrote. "He was dressed for the Ball State game but did not see any action. LSU transfer wide receiver Kyle Parker is expected to miss his second consecutive game."

Russaw is returning from an unknown injury. However, it was deemed minor even before Ohio State's season opener. He is likely to rotate in as an edge rusher behind Beau Atkinson or Kenyatta Jackson Jr. against Texas.
The junior edge rusher played two seasons for the Alabama Crimson Tide before transferring to Ohio State. He's been a backup so far in his collegiate career, and should maintain that role on Saturday in his debut with the Buckeyes. Through 22 games played, Russaw has accumulated 50 combined tackles (21 solo), two sacks, and one forced fumble.
Ohio State and Texas are scheduled to kick off at 7:30 p.m. EST on Saturday. "College GameDay" will be in Austin, Texas to hype up the fans in attendance hours before the game.
