With Ja'Kobi Jackson out, Ohio State could give more chances to freshman Legend Bey in the backfield.
Ohio State football was dealt a tough blow this week when news broke that Ja'Kobi Jackson will miss Saturday's showdown with Indiana .
Jackson, the starting running back for the Buckeyes, will be on the sidelines when Ohio State welcomes in the defending national champion. Bo Jackson, the leading rusher, will take over as the starter.

While this injury is a stinging one for head coach Ryan Day and the offense, it might open up a new door.
True freshman Legend Bey has returned to the field following a two-game suspension. The former Texas high school football standout was one of the top players in his recruiting class, and a major get for Day and company.
Bey had committed to Tennessee after originally committing to Ohio State in 2025. The 5-foot-10 speedster eventually flipped again after signing with the Vols and doing the same for the Buckeyes.
Bo Jackson The Starter, But Legend Bey Will Play A Key Role Vs. Indiana
Jackson has been strong this year for Ohio State. He actually leads the team with 460 yards on 89 carries, scoring four touchdowns.

However, he has split carries over the past year-plus out of the backfield. Keeping him fresh and able to go deep into the fourth will be key vs. the Hoosiers.
That is where Bey comes into play.

He has carried the ball 12 times for 50 yards, flashing some of that potential that made him a four-star prospect. He had six carries for 37 yards and caught two passes for 37 with a touchdown vs. Ball State.

Bey had just one carry in both games vs. Texas and Kent State, but was back last week vs. Maryland. He had four carries and produced 13 yards.
For Ohio State to knock Indiana off, they are going to need more of the Bey vs. Ball State than that vs. Maryland or the two games prior to his suspension.
