- Oilers Announce Four Players Will Miss Start of Training Camp
The Edmonton Oilers revealed today that four key players won't be ready to hit the ice when training camp opens next month. As per the statement, the club continues to manage a handful of lingering health issues heading into the new season.
Forwards Mattias Janmark and Matt Savoie , defenceman Alec Regula , and goaltender Frederik Andersen have all been ruled out of the early camp sessions.
Janmark is still working his way back from a medical procedure he underwent during the 2025-26 campaign, while Regula is recovering from a procedure that took place shortly after the season wrapped up.

Meanwhile, Savoie and Andersen are each nursing injuries sustained during offseason training, according to the team.
The Oilers did not provide specific timelines for any of the four players, and the severity of each situation remains unclear.
Losing Andersen, in particular, adds a layer of uncertainty to the team's goaltending picture as camp approaches. They were planning to run with three netminders in Andersen, Tristan Jarry , and Devon Levi . It looks like they might have to run with two for a bit.
Edmonton says it will share further updates on the players' recovery and their eventual return to game action as those details become available. Fans will be watching closely for progress reports as the season draws nearer.
