Nottingham Forest's players have backed Oliver Glasner following talks with the manager in the wake of his "no compromises" rant.
Glasner met with his squad at Forest 's training base on Sunday, fewer than 24 hours after his outspoken post-match press conference following the 2-0 defeat at Brentford. It is understood that he held the meeting to address his remarks and the response was both positive and supportive.
Forest are in the relegation zone and the players recognised that collectively they have to improve, though there is confidence that results will turn under the Austrian. The meeting was not out of the ordinary as the players always have a recovery session the day after Saturday matches.
Yet Glasner's comments grabbed attention after he warned that a sixth manager in 15 months would be appointed if the players "don't want to follow".
He said: "I think the club wanted to see changes immediately, that's why they always changed the manager, but the things didn't change. I'm an employee; if the leadership think I'm the wrong one, they will let me know. But I think things won't change. That's just how I see it now.
"We started already, and I think I was not harsh enough on getting a few changes. I had this, to be honest, in every single club. Sometimes I feel I waited a little bit too long for things to change, and then there is a point when the glass is full with water, there is one drop and it overflows. This defeat, this was this drop where it overflows. And that's now changing things.

"I feel I could see a few things from day number one. I feel now maybe I made too many compromises in some stuff, and it's always compromises.
"It's a clear way. I will tell [the players] what we want to do, what we have to do, and if the players buy in, I think we can have a turnaround and, if not, the sixth manager [since the start of last season] will come in.
"You need to change and rebuild from the bottom to the top. And this is clear for me. And this is what I will do. And without any compromises. Zero. Zero. And if these things don't work, they will let me know."
Glasner became the fifth managerial appointment at the City Ground in a year when he accepted the job in July, succeeding Vítor Pereira who was preceded by Sean Dyche, Ange Postecoglou and Nuno Espírito Santo.
Underlying numbers for Forest are strong
Forest have only one win so far this season under Glasner, though statistics have revealed that they are third in the table on expected points.
They are also second for expected goals against and fifth on expected goals for, according to data from Opta.
Glasner and the players are convinced that promising performances will soon be followed by victories, though there is an acceptance that there must be vast improvement.
Forest face Manchester City at home this weekend before the next international break.
Glasner is not understood to be under any pressure from Evangelos Marinakis, Forest's owner, and there is a determination internally to remain calm. Marinakis is striving for stability and intent on backing Glasner as a long-term appointment.
Dyche, meanwhile, compared the situation with Glasner to his dismissal in February in a social media post.
He wrote: "Nottingham Forest are still finding the goals hard to come by. And I had it along with my staff, we scored but nowhere near what the metrics were telling us. So not enough to stay in our job? We had 35 efforts at goal [versus] Wolves and yet 0-0 result and culminated in myself [and] staff being sacked. I hope Oliver is given more time and the fans stay with him and the players stand up and be counted."
