- Olympiacos Begin Discussions for €10M Fiorentina Right-Back
According to a report by Sport24.gr, Olympiacos have begun talks with Serie A outfit Fiorentina over a possible transfer for right-back Dodo.
The news would come as a surprise to many Olympiacos fans since the club recently secured the services of Marcus Pedersen on a permanent transfer from Torino . The Norwegian international was expected to feature as head coach Jose Luis Mendilibar's starter in the right-back role, but now things could quickly change.

The Red and Whites are predicted to have sent an offer worth €10 million to Fiorentina, and has been in contact with the Brazilian's entourage to find an agreement on personal terms. He currently earns €1.5 million net per year in salary at the Florence-based side, and Olympiacos are set to pay a figure around that. It will not be much of an upgrade for him financially, but the lure of European football could prove to be a major point for Dodo to consider.
Italian media reports that both sides are not far away from reaching an agreement on transfer fees. However, this raises a question regarding the quality and fitness of Pedersen, who is in line to be replaced by another player in the same position just a day after officially signing for the club. No news has come on that front, and details are expected to emerge behind this decision in the next few days.
After the arrival of Jota Silva on a loan deal from Nottingham Forest , who are under the administration of the Marinakis Football Group, Dodo could also be heading to the Premier League side and might come on as a loanee later. These can be considered as primary reports with no concrete expectations, but it has been surprising to see Olympiacos go for another right-back after Pedersen.
Dodo is represented by agent Giuliano Bertolucci, a close friend of Evangelos Marinakis, and therefore, there is an idea behind the scenes to use the player appropriately between the clubs under his management.

As of now, Olympiacos are eyeing a priority reinforcement for the midfield. Earlier, we reported on the Edson Alvarez deal, which could be blocked by Mendilibar since he is looking for a 'number 8' rather than a defensive midfielder, a position already being well covered by Santiago Hezze .
Thrylos have not pulled out of the negotiations with West Ham for the Mexican captain, and a final decision on him is expected to arrive in the upcoming hours.
