Westburg was an All-Star in 2024. He has been a productive player in each of the past two seasons. Westburg hit at least 17 home runs and .264 in both 2024 and 2025. The Orioles are certainly going to miss him in 2026.
Overall, the Orioles have dealt with a number of injury concerns this year . Baltimore features the talent and potential to compete, but the team has often been playing without important players because of injuries.
The O's are currently 20-24 overall. The ball club is trying to find a rhythm. They are in third place in the American League East standings heading into their game on Friday night against the Washington Nationals . Baltimore is nine games back of the Tampa Bay Rays for first place in the AL East at the moment.
The Orioles could still realistically make a postseason push. The AL Wild Card is likely going to give them their best opportunity to reach the postseason. If Baltimore can have other injured players return and develop more overall consistency from a performance standpoint, the team will likely improve its record. Performing well without Westburg will be a challenge, though.
