One of the scariest moments of the Baltimore Orioles ' win over the Arizona Diamondbacks was when O's manager Craig Albernaz was hit in the face with a ball, and his wife, Genevieve, reacted to his fast return to the dugout.
She took to X, formerly Twitter, during the game to write , "And we're back in the dugout. This guy……. [rolling on the floor laughing emoji]" after her husband returned to the dugout.
If nothing else, Albernaz is tough. He made a speedy return to the dugout before leaving again, not even attending the postgame press conference.

In the fifth inning of the Orioles-Diamondbacks game on Monday, Apr. 13, 2026, Albernaz was struck by a foul ball hit by one of his players. The crowd could be heard audibly gasping upon contact.
He was then taken to the back as the game continued. He was evaluated by the team's medical personnel at Camden Yards. Albernaz returned briefly in the sixth inning, giving Jeremiah Jackson — who had hit him with the foul ball — a hug after his grand slam.
When he returned, Albernaz sported a nasty rash on his right cheek. Again, it proves that his toughness is on another level. Hopefully, it heals well.
Orioles bench coach Donnie Ecker said Albernaz was "doing good" after the game . He added, "If it were up to him, he would finish the game and he would be sitting right here [at the postgame press conference]."
The Orioles pulled off a dramatic comeback win against the Diamondbacks. They were down 7-1 heading into the bottom of the seventh inning.
However, Jackson's grand slam cut the lead to one, and they later scored a home run from Pete Alonso , giving them the lead 8-7. They later scored off a Jackson home run and sealed the game in the ninth inning for their third win in a row.
