One of the few bright spots for the Magic in the loss was Tristan da Silva, who scored 20 points while converting four of his five attempts from 3-point range. Da Silva continues to shoot with confidence, having the green light from Sweeney , and the Magic need his scoring contributions with multiple stars sidelined.
Here's the major takeaways from what Tristan da Silva had to say after the game:
How turnovers impacted the team's performance against Toronto: Da Silva identified turnovers as Orlando's biggest issue in the loss, emphasizing that limiting transition opportunities and second-chance points were major priorities entering the game. While he believed the Magic did a respectable job on the defensive glass for much of the contest, he acknowledged that turnovers ultimately hurt the team's ability to compete.
Providing an offensive spark off the bench: Da Silva credited the confidence and trust he has received from the coaching staff and his teammates for his improved offensive rhythm. He emphasized that his teammates have consistently looked for him in scoring situations and helped create open opportunities, allowing him to play more comfortably and effectively in his role.

Toronto's defensive pressure and forcing turnovers: Da Silva acknowledged that Toronto's aggressive and physical defensive approach disrupted Orlando's offensive execution. He pointed to the Magic's tendency to drive into crowded areas and make decisions while off balance as contributing factors to their turnovers. He stressed the importance of correcting those mistakes ahead of Friday's game.
Adjusting to the absences of Paolo Banchero and Jalen Suggs: Da Silva acknowledged that playing without two high-usage players creates additional responsibilities for the rest of the roster, particularly with Orlando's emphasis on playing at a faster pace. However, he noted that the Magic have dealt with similar situations in the past and believes the team should be capable of adjusting quickly. He emphasized that injuries cannot serve as an excuse and expressed confidence in the team's ability to overcome those challenges.
Jase Richardson's development and confidence: Da Silva praised Richardson's growing confidence and comfort handling the basketball and attacking the paint. He encouraged Richardson to continue playing aggressively while recognizing opportunities to pass to open teammates when opposing defenses collapse on his drives.
His increased offensive production and role under Sean Sweeney: Da Silva attributed his strong offensive start to the confidence the coaching staff has placed in him and its emphasis on taking advantage of open scoring opportunities. He explained that Sweeney and his staff have encouraged him to remain aggressive and avoid passing up quality shots, reinforcing that turning down those opportunities can negatively impact the team's offense.
