Ousted Ex-Milan Players Blindsided by the Club's Call
Milan took almost no prisoners among their own castoffs during the summer, as Fikayo Tomori was the only one to stick it out and be reinstated, while all the others, in particular Christopher Nkunku and Youssouf Fofana , were forced out.
The attacker recently stated that they were surprised by the choice and had yet to fully comprehend it. According to Fabrizio Romano (via Calciomercato ), he expected to have another shot after just one year at San Siro. He thought he could have been a viable alternative behind Gonçalo Ramos , where the Rossoneri currently have just Francesco Camarda , and also as a no.10.

Instead, Milan and Ruben Amorim decided midway through the summer that Nkunku and Fofana were redundant. They agreed to so-so terms just to get rid of them, at least for this season. The former headed back to RB Leipzig on a €3M loan with a €28M option to buy.
Instead, the midfielder transferred to Sevilla only temporarily, with no clause to acquire him, and with his new side covering a mere 8 percent of his salary. The deal was quickly concocted late on deadline day. The Rossoneri had worked on his move to Olympique Lyonnais for hours. Unlike Tomori, he would have been left out of the squad if he hadn't departed.
Our Take on Milan, Nkunku, and Fofana
Something must have happened with the first one in training during the summer, perhaps a simple lack of effort, because he wasn't ousted initially. They could have still used him, given their suspect depth. The latter would probably have been better in their current scheme than last season, as he could have focused on the defensive tasks, but the gaffer picked Yunus Musah and Ardon Jashari over him for some reason.
