Alex has emerged as a breakout star for the USMNT during their electrifying 2026 FIFA World Cup run. The young fullback recently turned heads in a crucial Group D matchup at Los Angeles Stadium, where the Americans locked up a spot in the knockout stage with a gritty 2-0 victory over the Australia national football team.
The younger Freeman completely iced the match in the 43rd minute, bursting forward to hammer home a header right before halftime. His crucial goal doubled the American lead following an early 11th-minute own goal by Australia's Cameron Burgess . The stellar defensive unit, anchored by Freeman, suffocated the Socceroos' attack to preserve a clean sheet.
Appearing on The Rich Eisen Show , the elder Freeman could barely contain his pride when discussing his son's monumental moment and the team's inspiring journey.
"What I see is magic," the Packers Hall of Famer told host Rich Eisen. "They all just want to win, and they want to win for this country. Their camaraderie, it glows."
The victory moved the USMNT to a perfect six points in group play. Managers and fans alike are buzzing over the roster's depth and chemistry as they head into the Round of 32. For Antonio, watching Alex carve out his own legacy in a completely different sport brings a unique kind of joy that rivals any championship ring. The Freeman name continues to represent athletic excellence, shifting effortlessly from the frozen tundra of Lambeau Field to the global soccer stage.
