Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs was arrested on Tuesday for five charges, including domestic abuse, per NFL insider Adam Schefter.
Jacobs was arrested Tuesday morning and booked into Brown County Jail. The full list of charges goes as follows: battery/domestic abuse, criminal damage to property/domestic abuse, disorderly conduct/domestic abuse, strangulation and suffocation, and intimidation of a victim.
Police officers responded to a complaint involving Jacobs on Saturday morning for what was described as a disturbance complaint. The ensuing investigation resulted in his arrest.
Jacobs has denied all allegations in a statement from his attorneys.
"Josh vehemently denies the allegations, and this matter is in the early stages of investigation with important evidence that has not yet been made public," the statement, shared by NFL insider Ian Rapoport, reads. "We ask for fairness and restraint while the judicial process takes its course."
Following the news of his arrest, the NFL released a statement on Jacobs' situation, as shared by Tom Pelissero.
"We are aware of the report and have been in contact with the club," the league stated.
Jacobs is coming off of a very successful first two seasons with the Packers, where he has become the focal point of one of the most explosive offenses in the NFL under Matt LaFleur. During those two years, the former Alabama star has carried the ball 535 times for 2,258 yards and 28 touchdowns.
He started his career with the Las Vegas Raiders , where he made an All-Pro team in 2022 after rushing for a league-leading 1,653 yards.
Green Bay lost backup Emanuel Wilson in free agency. MarShawn Lloyd and Chris Brooks make up the depth behind Jacobs on the depth chart. It remains to be seen what the repercussions will look like for the star running back, but this is certainly a situation to monitor in Green Bay over the summer.
