- Pair of Former Seattle Mariners Win World Series Title with Milwaukee Brewers
The Milwaukee Brewers won the first World Series title in franchise history on Wednesday night, beating the Tampa Bay Rays at Tropicana Field by a score of 4-1.
With the Brewers winning, we are down to four teams who have never won the World Series: The Seattle Mariners , Rays, Colorado Rockies and San Diego Padres.

And while the Mariners remain in this frustrating group, it should be noted that two former members of the M's did win a World Series with the Brewers on Wednesday: Daniel Vogelbach and Jake Bauers.
Here's what you need to know about the duo and their times in Seattle.
The Jake Bauers file
Now 31 years old, Bauers is a seven-year veteran of the Rays, Cleveland Guardians, Mariners, New York Yankees and Brewers. He's only a career .223 hitter, but he broke out in a big way for Milwaukee this season, hitting .266 with 26 homers and 86 RBIs.
As he heads to free agency, he's in line for a big payday, especially since he was the National League Championship Series (NLCS) MVP.

Bauers played 72 games for the Mariners in 2021, hitting .220 with two homers, 13 RBIs and six stolen bases. His biggest highlight as a Mariner? Being part of the "Mitch Haniger, what a night!" call from broadcaster Dave Sims in Game 161 of that season.
The Daniel Vogelbach file
Still just 33 years old, Vogelbach stopped playing after the 2024 season to get into coaching. He spent a year on staff with the Pittsburgh Pirates and joined the Brewers as a hitting coach before the 2026 campaign.
As a player, he was drafted by the Chicago Cubs but made his biggest impact with the Mariners after getting traded to Seattle in 2016. Vogelbach hit 30 home runs and drove in 76 runs for the rebuilding 2019 Mariners. He appeared in 144 games that season, though he hit just .208. He made the All-Star team, serving as the lone representative for a Seattle team that finished last in the American League West.

The Mariners let him go during the pandemic-shortened 2020 season, and he played with the Toronto Blue Jays, Brewers and New York Mets after that.
For his career, he hit .219 with 81 homers and 246 RBIs. In addition to his 30-homer season with Seattle, he had two other seasons of double-digit homers.
What's next?
We're officially onto manager watch. The Mariners could have a new skipper by Thursday, according to the latest information .
