- Panthers Week 2 inactives: Pair of 2024 draft picks healthy scratches vs. Falcons
The Carolina Panthers ' 2024 draft class is looking weaker by the week.
As announced prior to kickoff of today's matchup against the Atlanta Falcons , tight end Ja'Tavion Sanders and cornerback Chau Smith-Wade are healthy scratches here in Week 2.

Sanders was also inactive for last Sunday's regular-season opener versus the Chicago Bears . With the 2024 fourth-rounder down, the Panthers will roll with four of the five tight ends on their active roster in Tommy Tremble , Mitchell Evans , Darren Waller and Feleipe Franks .
Smith-Wade, meanwhile, will be without a uniform for the first time in 2026. The 2024 fifth-rounder played 19 snaps on defense and 16 on special teams in Week 1.
In addition, starting outside linebacker Pat Jones II will be out—like he was last week—due to a back injury. The Panthers elevated fellow outside linebacker Jeremiah Moon from the practice squad to provide some depth at the position.
