If there's anyone who knows how to curate a good roster of ski films and a good time, it's Whitefish, Montana-based professional skiers Maggie Voisin and Parkin Costain.
Between their laundry list of TGR segments and Flipbook, the solo project Costain produced, edited, and skied in (which just received an official Banff Mountain Film Nomination), Costain and Voisin are something of connoisseurs when it comes to ski films.
For the last two years, the "Powder Cowboys" Voisin and Costain have hosted a pre-ski season film festival night in Whitefish, bringing their picks and showcasing their own projects to their community. Two years in, the pair decided it was time to turn things up a notch and find a venue that could host a full-fledged celebration of skiing in the Flathead Valley.
In collaboration with Outriders Presents, the inaugural Stumptown Film Festival will take place in Whitefish, Montana, and feature films by athletes including Sam Kuch, Manon Loschi, Dillon Flinders, Jonah Williams, and more. Costain and Voisin will show brand-new projects of their own as well. A portion of the proceeds from the event will also go to the Flathead Freeride Team in support of the next generation of skiers following in Costain and Voisin's footsteps.

The festival takes place Saturday, November 7, 2026, at the Majestic Valley Arena. Attendees will see films like Stargazer (Dillon Flinders & Alex Lundstrom), Sorry I Missed Your Call (Manon Loschi), and Dweller (Sam Kuch), and meet some of the athletes behind them. Skiers Kai Jones and Tanner Hall will be there, too.
No ski film premiere is complete without a raffle, free swag (including copies of the 2026/27 Print Edition of
POWDER
Magazine
), and a ripping after-party. Guests will have the chance to win raffle prizes like outerwear from Backcountry and Scott, skis, ski trips to Big Sky and Lookout Pass, lift tickets to Whitefish, a OneWheel, Turtlebox Audio bluetooth speakers, a GoPro Mission 1 camera, and even more. A separate raffle will also be held for 35% off a Polaris sled, complete with a free SNDR ski rack.
Costain and Voisin have hired local food trucks and vendors and organized an après celebration to dance the night away with DJ Heminguey and Cascadel at the Remington Bar.
Take it from someone who's attended their fair share of premieres with Costain and Voisin; Stumptown Film Festival is sure to be a good time and not one to miss. Tickets to the event are $15 and available here.
