Last week, felt like I had a really strong grasp on how the game was going to play out, but unfortunately, it was another subpar week. We had another 1-2 week (thanks to penalties wrecking Kaliff Raymond's day) that dropped our season record to 8-10.
It's a short week with the Chicago Bears playing tonight at Soldier Field against the New England Patriots. This one should be interesting and a lot of fun as Drake Maye and Caleb Williams square off. Here are three props we like this week; up to you if you want to run it with me or fade me.
Sometimes you look at the opponent's numbers and say, this one makes too much sense not to play. Kyle Williams is Drake Maye's deep threat. His job is to stretch defenses, get behind them, and make a big play. We know speed isn't something that the Bears handle well with the secondary, and they've shown that they can get beat deep. 19.5 receiving yards is basically wagering whether or not you think Williams is getting one catch. I think it makes too much sense that he snags 1 or 2 explosive plays tonight.
It's almost impossible to believe that Swift hasn't surpassed this number since the Eagles game on September 28th. In the month of October, he's totaled 58, 43, and 44 yards. With Monangai out, we know Roschon Johnson will be getting his share of carries, but I feel like Ben Johnson is going to want to establish the run and keep his defense off the field. The Patriots defense is a little stingy with the rushing yards, but I think Swift clears this number, but it may take him until the 4th quarter to do it.
Right now it's tough to hone in on the Bears receivers. If I took someone, I certainly would take Loveland because I think Ben Johnson is going to want to attack the middle of the field against NE, but with the amount of weapons they have, it's hard to know for certain who is going to be featured in the game plan. I think we need a few more games of Caleb Williams to start looking for trends and who he targets. I think the Bears do get the passing game going, but I think Caleb will distribute it over many different receivers. The bottom line here is that the Patriots' secondary can be beaten, and Caleb Williams in good conditions is averaging almost 290 passing yards per game.
