SAN FRANCISCO – Patriots fans can breathe a sigh of relief.
Drake Maye is healthy.
After suffering an injury to his right throwing shoulder in the AFC Championship game, the Patriots quarterback entered Super Bowl week with questions surrounding his health. It appears as though those questions were answered in the Patriots ' first injury report of Super Bowl 60.
On Wednesday, Maye was listed on the Patriots' practice report as a full participant. That's a sign of improvement after the MVP candidate was limited last week. Maye also missed last Friday's practice before departing for San Francisco on Sunday.
Maye met with the media on Wednesday morning before the Patriots practiced at Stanford. He said the signs were pointing in the right direction when it came to his shoulder injury.
"It feels good," Maye said . "I wasn't limited on Monday, so I don't expect to be limited today."
The Patriots practiced for the first time in California on Monday, but there wasn't an injury report due that day. Wednesday's practice report is the first of three to come this week.
Maye suffered the injury at 3:46 of the third quarter in the AFC Championship game. It happened when he landed hard on his right shoulder while being tackled.
That led him to being limited last week and then missing the Patriots' final practice at Gillette Stadium. During Monday's media night, however, the quarterback said he wasn't worried about the situation.
"I think I turned a corner landing on the flight," Maye said at the San Jose Convention Center. "I felt good from the flight and throwing out there today, I think it turned the corner, and I really had no doubt in being 100% for the game: This is the Super Bowl. We get two weeks to prepare for it and do whatever we got to do to get it right.
"I've got confidence and feel good."
The Patriots had five players listed on their injury report. The only player who didn't practice on Wednesday was starting middle linebacker Robert Spillane , who's been dealing with an ankle injury.
On Wednesday, Spillane told the media that he was "100% confident" he would play in Super Bowl 60.
Here's Wednesday's Super Bowl 60 injury report:
