Apparently Christian Gonzalez cleared the concussion protocol on Friday afternoon.
Mike Vrabel initially said the star cornerback would be questionable in his Friday press conference, but when the final injury report of the week came out, Gonzalez wasn’t given a designation for Sunday’s game against the Texans. He’s good to go.
Harold Landry (knee) and Terrell Jennings (concussion) are the only two officially listed as questionable. Landry has been managing a knee injury for weeks — he missed the final two games of the regular season — and wasn’t present at Friday’s practice.
“We’re just trying to do everything we can to give him enough time to see how it feels for Sunday,” Vrabel said.
One noteworthy name that won’t be on the final injury report is Khyiris Tonga.
The big defensive tackle had been sidelined for the past three weeks with a foot injury, but won’t be given an injury designation and is ready to roll.
“Hopefully he can pick up where he left off in his production and what he was able to do,” Vrabel said. “How he helped us inside there as an interior rotation player with Milt (Williams) and Christian (Barmore).”
