- Patriots’ win gives Mike Vrabel a chance to join an elite Super Bowl club
The Patriots already made some history under Mike Vrabel.
After beating the Broncos, 10-7 in the AFC Championship , they're the first team to reach the Super Bowl after losing 13 games the year before.

But the New England coach has a chance to make some on his own. Only five men - Mike Ditka, Tom Flores, Gary Kubiak, Doug Pederson and Tony Dungy have won Super Bowls as a player and a coach. Vrabel could be No. 6.
Vrabel, who won three Super Bowls (36, 38 and 39) as a player with the Patriots, has a chance to become the first person to win a Lombardi Trophy as both a player and a coach for the same team.
He downplayed his role in all of the success.
"It'll be the players that'll win the game," he said. "It won't be me that'll win, it, but I'll do everything I can with our staff to have them ready for the game."
