After playing a Temple team who they have a ton of history with, the Penn State Nittany Lions will take on Buffalo in Week 3. These two squads have only faced off four teams in their histories, and the last time was back in 2019. Even if they did have a history against each other, neither Penn State coach Matt Campbell or Bulls coach Pete Lembo were with their respective club in that last meeting.
There will be new faces and new challenges for the Blue and White, with the main one being Buffalo wide receiver Chance Morrow . He hadn't done much in his career, with just over 200 yards in his last three seasons, but he came out and grabbed three touchdowns in the Bulls ' season opener and showed how valuable he can be.
He only had seven catches for 49 yards in that game, but he proved just how dangerous he can be close to the goal line. While the Nittany Lions ' defense has been excellent for the most part in 2026, they let Temple move the ball down the field a bit in the first half of last week's game.
The Owls weren't able to capitalize, save for a late touchdown when the game was already decided, but the Bulls have a weapon who can. Morrow stands at 6-4 and can easily leap over a much smaller cornerback to catch a touchdown. After a low-yardage output in Week 1, he decided to show out and catch 173 yards worth of passes last Saturday.
Don't think that means Morrow didn't have any touchdowns — he added two more in that game. He has been one of the most-productive receivers in college this year, albeit against lesser competition, so Penn State needs to be weary of him all game long. He has a potential to wreck this game if Matt Campbell and his staff aren't careful.
