Penn State' s basketball roster is a mix of some experienced returners, but a lot of transfers and international risks. It is a huge gamble for a team not necessarily expected to contend in the Big Ten this season but also an experiment that could come together in a unique way. Today, we take a look at one of Penn State's integral transfer additions in former Buffalo big man Tim Oboh .

Recruiting Rankings
Much like several other international players for the Nittany Lions , Oboh did not receive any official grade or star ranking as he spent most of his developmental years in England. However, when he hit the transfer portal this year, he was given an overall grade of 88, making him a 3 star transfer prospect.
Career Stats
Oboh had a very impressive career with Buffalo , where he was a dominant presence down low. In his freshman season, he scored a freshman high 16 points in a game against Toledo. In his sophomore season, he led the Bulls in both rebounds and blocks as well. He finished his career with Buffalo with 388 points and 56 blocks as well. Before coming to America though, Oboh impressed in the EABL in England, where he averaged 17 points and 12 rebounds per game.
Projected role in 2026-27
Oboh will most likely see all of his minutes at the center position. He will able to back up one of the Big Ten's most underrated centers in Ivan Juric, who averaged just over 10 points and 5 boards himself last year. Most importantly, it will give the Nittany Lions added size down low in terms of their bench unit as well. Still, one problem that Oboh could face is night to night consistency. He must prove able to adjust to the rigors of Big Ten play or else his status as an elite backup down low could be called into questions.
Random fact
If Oboh did not play basketball, he believes he would be known for his acting skills instead.
