The University of Pittsburgh Panthers men's basketball team will sport the logo of a local robotics firm on its jerseys this season.
On Tuesday, Pitt Athletics , along with its multimedia rights holder JMI Sports , announced that the men's basketball program has partnered with Gecko Robotics for the 2026-2027 season and beyond, in what is described as a multi-year deal. Financial aspects of the partnership were not disclosed.
The Panthers will wear the Gecko name as part of a jersey patch deal, the first such partner the team has had. According to a release from Pitt Athletics, the team will debut the patch when Pitt hosts Rider University in the team's regular season opener on Nov. 2 at the Petersen Events Center.
