The league's collective bargaining agreement allows each team to run a nine-week program that emphasizes training, teaching, and physical conditioning. The Steelers will begin their season on Tuesday, Apr. 7, 2026.
Teams that have appointed a new head coach, such as the Steelers with Mike McCarthy, start their offseason training sooner than others. They are also allowed to arrange a voluntary minicamp before the NFL Draft. The Steelers' minicamp is scheduled from Apr. 20 to Apr. 22, 2026.
Just hours before the start of their offseason program, the Steelers' social media profile decided to celebrate the occasion and express their joy by sharing a hilarious Minions meme. "Mood when the guys are back today," the meme read. The meme features possibly Otto or Phil (minion characters) wearing a Steelers cap and soaking in the environment, much like the viral Jon Hamm meme.
