Are Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs getting favorable calls? Breiden Fehoko is certain that the NFL is favoring certain teams over others. In particular, the former NFL player has been adamant that the league has been helping the Chiefs with irregular decision-making.
While Fehoko launched an open-ended complaint to the NFL last week, claiming that the officials were rigging games, he was more specific in his comments this week. On Wednesday, he focused on the case of the Chiefs, calling them out for allegedly benefiting from favoritism.
"If the NFL isn't rigged, I want to see a referee keep his flag in his pocket during a key moment this postseason when the Chiefs are in the playoffs. PLEASE PROVE ME WRONG," Fehoko wrote .
Fehoko's proposal itself seems contradictory, as referees refusing to intervene at a key point in a game just because of a team's fame and recent success is itself a form of bias. The NFL would just be trading one form of controversy for another.
On Wednesday, Breiden Fehoko went on a tirade against the Kansas City Chiefs. Besides challenging the officials to go against the Chiefs, Fehoko called Arrowhead Stadium "the most rigged venue" in sports in recent years.
"Playing at Arrowhead Stadium is the most rigged venue in professional sports since Tom Brady left Foxborough," Breiden Fehoko said on X . "It has become a joke. And I believe players who have competed against the Kansas City Chiefs know exactly what I'm talking about.
Including postseason games, Kansas City is 55-17 at home in the Patrick Mahomes era (since 2018) and 48-20 on the road. The team has been one of the NFL's best in that time, winning three Super Bowls and reaching two others. The Chiefs are 5-0 this season, including three wins at Arrowhead.
