Way too early 2027 NFL mock drafts are flying across the national media. While these will have practically no accuracy come April, they are an excellent indicator of prospects that fans should watch. Below, I've compiled five of these mocks from various sites for the San Francisco 49ers . Fans should focus on these prospects throughout the year, as they could be heading to the Bay next April.
PFF: Ty Benefield, S, LSU
Ty Benefield, the former Boise State Bronco, has the requisite frame and athleticism to be an elite safety in the NFL. The six-foot-three, 205-pound transfer will have a massive opportunity to establish himself as a star on LSU's defense. Players moving from a smaller conference to the SEC, or any other power conference, will always be a projection. But Benefield has every trait to be a star not only in college but also at the next level.
ESPN: Tae Johnson, S, Notre Dame
Tae Johnson is a well-rounded prospect who could be the next star from the Notre Dame pipeline. His rare mix of athleticism and instincts makes him a valuable defender who contributes as a run defender and in pass coverage. The 49ers could be in the market for a safety next offseason, and Johnson is an intriguing possibility in the first round.
CBS: A'Mauri Washington, DT, Oregon
A'Mauri Washington is an uber-athletic defensive tackle who can be an every-down contributor. The six-foot-three, 330-pound senior was clocked at running 20.89 miles per hour, had a 36" vertical, 755 pound squat, and 475 pound bench before last season. He uses this otherworldly athleticism to dominate against the run, frequently penetrating the backfield and blowing up the play. Additionally, his pass-rush upside makes him an enticing round-one possibility.
Bleacher Report: Niki Prongos, OT, Stanford
Prongos is a raw prospect but has all the tools to become a franchise tackle. The six-foot-seven, 315-pound prospect has elite movement skills, which are evident in both pass protection and as a run blocker. Additionally, he has flashed outstanding hand usage. However, he still needs to improve his strength and technique, particularly as a pass blocker. This is expected, as he started playing football in his senior year of high school, but needs to be addressed before starting in the NFL.
Yahoo Sports: Charlie Becker, WR, Indiana
Charlie Becker exploded onto the national radar with a stellar end to the season. The six-foot-four, 209-pound receiver is a dynamic contested catch threat who thrives at highpointing the ball and reeling in the catch, regardless of contact. He's set for a breakout season in Indiana's new-look offense and could establish himself as a first-round talent.
