Paris Saint-Germain and four Premier League clubs are monitoring Celta Vigo defender Javi Rodríguez ahead of the January transfer window.
Newcastle United, Everton , Bournemouth and Fulham all made enquiries about the 23-year-old during the closing stages of the summer window and remain interested in signing him.
PSG are also tracking the Spain international, with manager Luis Enrique reportedly impressed by his versatility. Rodriguez can operate both as a centre-back and at right-back, making him an attractive option for the French champions, who monitored his performances towards the end of the previous transfer window.
The defender has enjoyed a productive start to the season, scoring three goals in 10 appearances, nine of which have been starts.
However, any interested club may have to meet his £34m (€40m) release clause to secure his services. Everton, in particular, are understood to be keeping a close eye on his situation.
AC Milan and Como were also linked with Rodriguez during the summer, but competition for his signature could intensify in January.
