- Quick Broderick Jones Replacement? Commanders Waive Massive Offensive Tackle

Not long after the Pittsburgh Steelers were reported to have shipped Broderick Jones to Dallas , one of the Cowboys archrivals made a roster move that might help Mike McCarthy's team replace the former first-round draft pick.
According to NFL insider Tom Pelissero, the Washington Commanders waived offensive tackle Nicholas Petit-Frere, who stands 6-foot-5 and tips the scale at 315 pounds. Petit-Frere, an Ohio State product, played for the Tennessee Titans for three seasons after they selected him in the third round (No. 69 overall) of the 2022 NFL Draft. He appeared in 34 games, starting 28.
He dropped to third string for the Titans at one point in 2024 before being released in April 2025 and landing with the San Francisco 49ers the next month. He was released in June 2025 and had signed with the Commanders earlier this month.
As a collegian, Petit-Frere earned first-team All-American honors from the Football Writers Association of America and CBS Sports in 2021. He helped pave the way and protect the Buckeyes' quarterback for three consecutive Big Ten championship teams and was included on the Outland Trophy watch list in 2021, as well.
The Steelers will likely be starting Troy Fautanu at left tackle and Dylan Cook opposite him. They also drafted Max Iheanachor in the first round of April's 2026 NFL Draft.
