R.J. Harvey suffered a knee injury in Thursday's practice, and it could be a while before the second-year back sees the field again. Originally entering the league as a second-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft , the Central Florida product had a promising rookie season. Splitting carries with veteran J.K. Dobbins, Harvey finished his inaugural campaign with 540 rushing yards and seven touchdowns on 146 attempts. With his help, the team made it to the AFC Championship Game before falling short to the New England Patriots.
So far on the season, R.J. Harvey has primarily served as the team's receiving back while splitting snaps with veteran J.K. Dobbins. However, it will be a while before we see him on the field again. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter , Harvey suffered a knee injury in practice and will miss at least the next four games while on the injured reserve.

R.J. Harvey Injury Update: Broncos Running Back Lands On Injured Reserve
Needless to say, this is devastating news for a Denver Broncos team that is already struggling to find answers on offense. While the team is 5-2 and just a half-game out of first, most of the early-season success is due to the offense. Quarterback Bo Nix has not played well, even with Jaylen Waddle in town, and now the Broncos will have one less receiving weapon with R.J. Harvey sidelined.
The timing of the injury is also a problem. While it's never a good time to lose a player like R.J. Harvey, the Broncos will now have to face the Kansas City Chiefs without their top pass-catching back. At 5-1, Patrick Mahomes and company currently lead the AFC West and boast one of the best records in football. While Mahomes has cooled off after a hot start, running back Kenneth Walker is still on fire and the defense is playing like one of the league's better units.
