The Las Vegas Raiders will be relatively healthy going into their game against the New York Jets on Sunday, but one player who did turn up on he injury list was guard Jackson Powers-Johnson, who was listed as questionable according to a report from Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk.
Powers-Johnson is struggling with a back injury. He missed practice on Thursday and was limited during Firday's practice.
Defensive end Patrick Johnson (stinger) has been ruled out for this weekend, per Alper, and the Raiders announced that they will not activate tight end Carter Runyon (foot) from injured reserve.
Receiver Jack Bech has also been trying to get back in action after being on injured reserve after breaking his forearm in the Raiders' Week 3 win over the New Orleans Saints, and he's listed as questionable.
Tight end Brock Bowers (calf), defensive lineman Foley Fatukasi (shoulder), offensive tackle DJ Glaze (ankle), tight end Ian Thomas (shoulder), linebacker Quay Walker (chest), and cornerback Eric Stokes (illness) are all off the injury report.
Powers-Johnson's roster status has been in question for several weeks now. He was expected to excel as the Raiders' right guard after being bounced back and forth between center and guard last year, but instead the opposite has happened.
Powers-Johnson has gone backwards, and he was recently demoted and replaced by Caleb Rogers There are also rumors that have the former second-round pick being moved at the upcoming trade deadline for a Day 3 draft pick.
Meanwhile, coach Klint Kubiak continues to try and sort out the offensive line. The latest on this has Kubiak considering lineman Trey Zuhn III, who was drafted in the third round for his versatility. Kubiak said that Zuhn will "have his chance," as the Raiders try to find lineman who can open holes in the running game and protect quarterback Kirk Cousins.
The Raiders could also catch a break on the other side of the ball when it comes to their protection issues. New York Jets edge rusher David Bailey hasn't practiced all week as he's been dealing with a groin injury, and he's considered doubtful for the game.
Bailey has been a game-wrecker as a rookie, with 5.5 sacks, seven tackles for loss, and nine quarterback hits to go with three forced fumbles.
The Raiders badly need a win in this game as they try to get back to .500 and end their current four-game losing streak.
