The Las Vegas Raiders visit the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, November 8, with both teams looking to build on different kinds of momentum. Las Vegas is 4-4 after snapping a four-game losing streak with a 38-33 victory over the Jets, while San Francisco returns from its bye at 6-1. Kickoff at Levi's Stadium is scheduled for 4:25 p.m. ET on FOX.

The matchup puts Kirk Cousins' productive passing attack against a rested 49ers defense allowing just 19.9 points per game. San Francisco suffered its first defeat before the bye, losing 29-20 to Atlanta, but its balance presents a difficult assignment for a Raiders team struggling to run the ball and stop opposing offenses.

Raiders vs. 49ers Key Injuries

Las Vegas' secondary requires attention, with cornerback Darien Porter listed as questionable with a groin injury. Defensive ends Patrick Johnson and Keyron Crawford are on injured reserve with neck and ankle injuries, respectively. Those absences reduce the Raiders' defensive depth against an offense capable of creating favorable matchups through formations and play-action.

San Francisco's offensive concerns begin with Christian McCaffrey, who carries an early-week questionable listing with a hamstring injury. Mike Evans is also managing an Achilles issue, while Deebo Samuel Sr. has a hamstring injury. Their practice participation could significantly influence how the 49ers distribute touches around Brock Purdy.

Defensively, Nick Bosa is listed as questionable with knee and calf concerns. Safety Marques Sigle, cornerback Upton Stout and linebackers Luke Gifford and Garret Wallow also appear among San Francisco's injury concerns. Those early-week listings are not substitutes for final game designations, particularly with Cousins and Brock Bowers presenting a challenging passing combination.

Raiders Betting Trends

Las Vegas is 6-2 against the spread this season, and the over has hit in six of its eight games. That record deserves consideration before laying double digits against a team that has consistently performed better than the betting market expected. The Raiders are also 3-1 straight up on the road.

Cousins' production explains much of that competitiveness. He has thrown for 2,124 yards, 19 touchdowns and five interceptions while posting a 101.4 passer rating. Against the Jets, he delivered 247 passing yards and three touchdowns, with Bowers catching seven passes and scoring twice.

The running game offers less reassurance. Las Vegas ranks 30th in both rushing EPA and rushing success rate, measures of the value and consistency of its rushing plays. That imbalance could become costly against a San Francisco defense allowing only 3.48 yards per carry and 89 rushing yards per game.

49ers Betting Trends

San Francisco is 4-3 against the spread despite its 6-1 record, while the under has hit in four of its seven games. The 49ers are also 4-0 at home, but winning at Levi's Stadium and covering a double-digit spread remain different assignments.

The scoring comparison illustrates that distinction. San Francisco averages 28.1 points per game, only slightly ahead of Las Vegas at 27.6. The larger separation comes defensively: the 49ers allow 19.9 points per game, compared with the Raiders' 28.8. That defensive advantage provides the stronger argument for backing the favorite.

Purdy gives San Francisco a dependable offensive foundation. He has thrown for 1,748 yards, 15 touchdowns and four interceptions, producing a 110.1 passer rating while taking only seven sacks. George Kittle has contributed 425 receiving yards and five touchdowns, giving the offense an established target while other playmakers manage injuries.

Keys to the Matchup

Las Vegas must find enough early-down production to avoid becoming completely dependent on Cousins. Short passes to Bowers and the running backs can serve as alternatives when rushing lanes disappear. Repeated third-and-long situations would make an already difficult defensive matchup even less forgiving.

San Francisco needs to capitalize on the Raiders' defensive inconsistency. Las Vegas ranks 30th in opponent success rate, allowing opponents to produce efficient plays too regularly. Sustained drives would keep Cousins off the field and give the 49ers opportunities to create separation without relying exclusively on explosive gains.

Bosa's availability could influence how aggressively San Francisco defends Bowers. Pressure without extra rushers would allow the 49ers to devote more coverage resources to a tight end averaging more than 90 receiving yards per appearance this season. If Cousins receives clean pockets, Las Vegas has enough passing production to remain competitive.

Raiders vs. 49ers Prediction and Pick

The Raiders should generate enough offense to avoid an immediate runaway, and their strong spread record makes this a demanding number to lay. However, their limited rushing efficiency creates a difficult matchup against a San Francisco defense built to force opponents into predictable passing situations.

The 49ers' defensive advantage and preparation time offer the stronger foundation for second-half separation. Provided their key offensive contributors are available, San Francisco should sustain drives against Las Vegas' vulnerable defense and finish just beyond the double-digit spread.

Prediction: 49ers 31, Raiders 20
