Rams Safety Predicted to be All-Pro Candidate

As the Los Angeles Rams prepare for the 2026 season, it seems that one safety could have the potential to be named to his first All-Pro selection.
When looking ahead to next season, PFF named 10 candidates who could be in a position to become All-Pros for the first time, and one of those candidates was Rams safety Kamren Kinchens .

Last season, Kinchens emerged as a very reliable player for the Rams' secondary with great production as a run defender and as a coverage player. In 2025, Kinchens recorded 84 tackles, four pass breakups, two interceptions, and two fumble recoveries according to PFF.
Kinchens also graded out quite well for the 2025 season as he received an overall PFF grade of 78.0 and a coverage grade of 81.9, which was No. 6 among all safeties. In terms of stopping the run, Kinchens continues to progress, as he had a 6.4 % run stop rate last season, which shows his willingness to stop the run as well as the fact that he has the size to do so.
Whether it be providing run support or playing coverage over the top, Kinchens has proven he can be effective.
As Kinchens gets ready for the 2026 season, he should progress individually but will also be surrounded by great players and a solid scheme in Chris Shula's defense .

For Kinchens as a safety, having corners he can rely on is crucial, which is something the Rams put a major emphasis on this offseason with the additions of cornerbacks Trent McDuffie and Jaylen Watson.
With the Rams adding McDuffie and Watson, Kinchens may have opportunities to be more aggressive in flying downhill to stop the run because of the reliability the Rams now have at the cornerback position.
Kinchens also has the benefit of playing with one of the greatest defensive players of this generation in defensive end Myles Garrett , whom the Rams also acquired this offseason.
Garrett is a player with the ability to completely take over games by himself through generating heavy pressure on quarterbacks and creating negative plays in the run game.

With Garrett dominating on the edge, Kinchens will have many opportunities to make plays on the ball because of the pressure Garrett generates, and if Kinchens takes advantage of these opportunities, he could be in a position to lead the NFL in interceptions.
While having great corners and pressure on the edge is great, having several reliable safeties on the backend is critical, so each can play to their strengths. The good news for the Rams is that they not only have Kinchens but also Quentin Lake and Kam Curl, who are both players that the Rams can rely on.
With Lake and Curl also at safety, Kinchens has the ability to be more aggressive because he knows they will each do their job, making tackles in the run game and providing solid coverage over the top to limit explosive plays that offenses can generate.
As a result of Kinchens' solid 2025 campaign and an even better situation around him for the 2026 season, it appears that he may have all the ingredients he needs to become an All-Pro for the first time in his career and put this defense in a position to be among the NFL's elite.
