The NFL rumor mill has been busy in recent days with the trade deadline coming up on November 10. For the Los Angeles Rams , most of the rumors have had to do with the team trying to acquire more talent rather than sell it.
Les Snead has never shied away from making aggressive moves. In recent years, he has been ultra-aggressive and has been more than willing to trade draft picks for win-now players.
Ahead of this year's deadline, one suggestion would see the Rams trade away a player.
ESPN's Jeremy Fowler believes that Los Angeles should consider the idea of trading cornerback Emmanuel Forbes before the deadline.
Fowler argued that Forbes has lost his starting job due to the additions of Trent McDuffie and Jaylen Watson. Moving on from Forbes could add extra draft capital for Snead to use in another deal or simply to have to help build the roster with more young talent.
At just 25 years old, Forbes still has plenty to offer the Rams or any other team. His age alone would likely interest quite a few teams, who could view him as an option past this season rather than just a half-season rental.
So far this season in Los Angeles, Forbes has played in eight games. He has recorded nine total tackles to go along with two defended passes.
Throughout his entire career since being drafted No. 16 overall in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft by the Washington Commanders, Forbes has played in 47 games. He has totaled 104 tackles, a forced fumble, five interceptions, and 33 defended passes.
Whether or not the Rams are actually open to the idea of trading Forbes or not remains to be seen. Keeping him as important depth could make sense as well.
If there was a team in the NFL this season that knows how important having depth can be, it would be Los Angeles. Sean McVay has already had to deal with more than his fair share of injury adversity.
Fans should expect to hear plenty of trade rumors about the Rams as the deadline continues to draw closer. Other rumors have connected them to potentially trying to acquire wide receiver help, such as Indianapolis Colts wideout Josh Downs.
Only time will tell what Snead decides to do ahead of the deadline. His recent track record suggests that he will remain aggressive.
Forbes is a name at least worth monitoring as a possible trade candidate if the right offers come in.
