Landen Chambers sits 36th in PFN's college fantasy football rankings and 308th at Yahoo. That 272-spot gap is the widest on PFSN analyst Oli Hodgkinson's list of 2026 sleepers, and gaps like it are where college fantasy leagues actually get won.
The five players Hodgkinson highlighted share one structural trait. Each is stepping into production somebody else left behind, which is the difference between a sleeper and a lottery ticket.
Chambers ran for 1,273 yards and 10 touchdowns on 242 carries at Central Arkansas last season, setting a school record with eight consecutive 100-yard games and reaching the century mark nine times in 12 tries. He did that for a 3-9 team. UCF hasn't had a 1,000-yard rusher since RJ Harvey in 2024, and both backs who split the 2025 workload are out of eligibility.
"If you want to get on a real sleeper, get on [Landen] Chambers as soon as you can," Hodgkinson said. PFN's college football impact metric graded Chambers a top-10 transfer running back at 88.0.
Ian Strong 's move from Rutgers to Cal follows the same math. He caught 52 passes for 762 yards and five touchdowns across 10 games while splitting targets with KJ Duff , who piled up 1,084 yards and finished third in the Big Ten. In Berkeley, Strong becomes the unquestioned first read for Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele on a 7-6 team that produced more than 77% of its yardage through the air.
"[PFN] ranks him as the 31st overall player. That's a significant disconnect," Hodgkinson said of a receiver Yahoo has 90th.
Vanderbilt's Sedrick Alexander qualifies for a different reason. Diego Pavia and his 862 rushing yards are gone, and Alexander enters his senior year with 26 career touchdowns already banked.
"The offseason of [Sedrick] Alexander disrespect continues apace," Hodgkinson said. "This is a kid who has done it at the highest level, but you never hear him talked about." Yahoo ranks him 91st. PFN has him 23rd.
Syracuse's Ahmad Miller is the deepest swing of the group. The Jackson State transfer was the SWAC's only 1,000-yard rusher in 2025, going for 1,035 yards on 163 carries with five 100-yard games. What matters more than his resume is Steve Angeli 's health. Syracuse went 3-1 with Angeli under center and 0-8 after he tore his Achilles at Clemson. He told reporters at ACC Kickoff he's fully recovered, though he hasn't taken a live snap since September.
"This is the very definition of a college fantasy football sleeper," Hodgkinson said of Miller, who sits 193rd at Yahoo and inside PFSN's top 50.
Hodgkinson's case for Weigman leans on pressure. "You rise to the top when you're in the face of your toughest competition, and [Conner] Weigman hasn't had competition like this since he arrived in Houston," he said.
The competition is real. Five-star freshman Keisean Henderson was the No. 1 quarterback in the 2026 class. The resolution is not in doubt. "No, Conner's our starting quarterback without question," Willie Fritz said at Big 12 Media Days in July.
That makes Weigman a better draft target, not a riskier one. He threw for 2,705 yards and 25 touchdowns last season while adding 700 yards and 11 scores on the ground for a 10-3 Cougars team, then took Texas Bowl MVP honors with four passing touchdowns, a Houston bowl record that tied the Texas Bowl mark Patrick Mahomes set. Hodgkinson credits him with more than 320 fantasy points in 2025. A rushing floor that steep, attached to a job nobody is taking, is not a gamble.

"Sleep on Houston, sleep on [Conner] Weigman at your peril," Hodgkinson said.
Houston opens Sept. 5 against Oregon State in Fritz's third year with Big 12 title expectations attached. Drafts are happening right now, and the market is still pricing Weigman like a contingency plan. That discount won't survive September.
