The Baltimore Ravens have created a much-needed $2 million in cap space, as it was reported they agreed to a reworked deal with defensive lineman Broderick Washington.
Per Spotrac , the new deal is a fully guaranteed $2 million, with an additional $250,000 in incentives.
Washington has been with the Ravens since the 2020 season, and his new deal is simply a restructure that gives the Baltimore front office some wiggle room in terms of their available cap space.

Spotrac has the Ravens currently with $16.68 million in available cap space, and it is unclear if the new deal with Washington has been factored into that number. Regardless, this does create some interesting cap space.
Baltimore has not been shy about adding players in 2026. The most recent was bringing in center Ethan Pocic .
There have been many questions regarding whether or not the Ravens would make more moves to truly strengthen the roster, with the wide receiver room being mentioned plenty. Despite not having a true playmaker alongside Zay Flowers , the team does seem set on giving Rashod Bateman and rookies Elijah Sarratt and Ja'Kobi Lane the time to show what they can do.
That is not to mention the fact that there are other roster questions that could be addressed.
Baltimore's offensive line remains a potential concern, even with the additions of Pocic, Danny Pinter , Jovaughn Gwyn , and John Simpson . There is a case to be made for more tackle depth, and the Ravens could be aiming to strengthen that unit even more.
Offensive tackle Ronnie Stanley recently spoke about the strength of the line, and Derrick Henry also indicated he has no intention of retiring. Both players have a lot at stake in terms of having a strong line.

The other interesting aspect of creating more cap space right now could point to a potential deal with Lamar Jackson being addressed.
Jackson has been his usual self in terms of not letting the media know what the updates are between himself and the Ravens organization, but a new deal is on the horizon.
Jackson is owed over $80 million in 2027, and a new multi-year deal will need to be struck to shrink that number. Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta indicated that conversations are being had, as did the quarterback.
Whether or not a deal will be agreed on this season, creating cap space could be a pathway to secure a new deal for Jackson.
