Trey Hendrickson won't have to wait long for his first shot at the team he spent five seasons terrorizing. The Baltimore Ravens brought the veteran pass rusher in to make life miserable for opposing quarterbacks, and a divisional matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals gives him a chance to do exactly that. His former teammates know what he can do; however, the Ravens locker room is already expecting something special.
Hendrickson has had a stop-and-start beginning to his Ravens career, with an injury keeping him out for part of the season. Now, with the Bengals coming to town on Sunday, one teammate has made a bold call about what could happen next.
Trenton Simpson Expects Trey Hendrickson To Make The Bengals Pay

Injured Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow (9) talks on the bench with injured defensive end Trey Hendrickson (91) in the second quarter of the NFL Week 12 game between the Cincinnati Bengals and the New England Patriots at Paycor Stadium in downtown Cincinnati on Sunday, Nov. 23, 2025.
The Ravens linebacker Trenton Simpson is predicting a multi-sack performance from Hendrickson against the Bengals, according to ESPN reporter Jamison Hensley , who shared Simpson's comments on October 21. The linebacker did not hide his excitement about seeing the veteran face his former team.
Simpson pointed to what he's watched from Hendrickson during practice, particularly the way he gets off the ball and attacks opposing blockers. Those details have convinced him that a big afternoon could be coming.
This is certainly a safe bet, particularly against the Bengals, who have Joe Burrow as their starting quarterback. Hendrickson played for five seasons with the Bengals team and emerged as one of the league's most feared edge rushers. He was the top sack leader in the NFL during the year 2024, and the Bengals team knows for sure what it means to face Hendrickson without any interference.
Hendrickson showed some of his abilities even before playing against the Bengals. The Ravens saw Hendrickson play again on October 18 against the Cleveland Browns, where he recorded one sack and pressured the quarterback despite the Ravens losing 13-10.
The reunion also carries some intrigue beyond the matchup itself. Hendrickson's departure from the Bengals f ollowed a contract dispute; however, there is no public indication that he's treating Sunday's game as a personal revenge mission.
Veteran defensive lineman Calais Campbell a cknowledged that facing an old team can bring extra motivation while making clear that Hendrickson tends to keep his thoughts to himself. As for Cincinnati, the challenge will be containing a pass rusher who knows the division and has plenty of experience against the Bengals' offense. Extra protection may be necessary if Hendrickson starts winning his matchups early.
Simpson has put the prediction out there. Now Hendrickson gets the chance to back it up on the field.
