Ravens first-round pick Vega Ioane is practicing just four days after an MCL sprain. He is wearing a brace on his right knee.
It's good news for the Ravens, who must rebuild their confidence after a second-half meltdown saw a 13-0 halftime lead turn into a 35-13 loss to the Bengals.
Ravens like what they have in OL Vega Ioane
The rookie has been one of the Ravens' best linemen this year. He showed his versatility by moving to center in an injury-need situation. And his level of play hasn't dropped. The Ravens traded for Cam Jurgens, allowing Ioane to return to his natural position of guard.
The move to center left Ravens head coach Jesse Minter i mpressed at the time , according to baltimoreravens.com.
"For that guy to do what he did, [to] be able to play center with the week's worth of work – major credit to him," Minter said. "And I bet you the film will probably look pretty good from his regard."
Teammate John Simpson, a guard, also complimented Ioane.
"I thought he did great," Simpson said. "He's a guy that I've been seeing since the beginning of the season who soaks it all up and puts his head down and works. He's one of those guys you can lean on when it comes to situations like this. You can count on him."
And Ioane liked what he saw of himself.
"It was pretty solid," Ioane said. "I would say, [there were] a lot of mistakes on my end. I take full responsibility for that. There were a lot of plays where I did not snap the ball at the right time, right cadence, things like that."
