3.Bello clearly didn’t want to come out of the game in the fourth inning at 63 pitches. He was shaking his head side to side while Tracy walked to the mound. That’s when Tracy replaced him with Greg Weissert , who allowed a two-run home run to Ernie Clement , making it 5-1 Toronto.

6.Weissert has allowed four home runs in 12 ⅓ innings after allowing six homers in 67 innings last year.

8.The Red Sox had a chance to get back into the game with the bases loaded and one out in the fifth inning with Toronto ahead 5-1. But Contreras lined out to shortstop Andrés Giménez , who threw quickly to second baseman Ernie Clement to double off Caleb Durbin at second base.
9. Boston loaded the bases with one out while trailing 7-1 in the eighth. But pinch hitter Jarren Duran struck out swinging and Connor Wong grounded out.
