Report: Aston Villa interested in move to sign Premier League forward
Aston Villa Transfer Plans Target Premier League Forward
Aston Villa's season continues to carry promise, yet recent results have reminded everyone how fine the margins are in the race for Champions League football. According to reporting from Sports Boom , Unai Emery and the club's recruitment team are already looking ahead to the summer window with a clear objective, strengthening Villa's attacking options.

Villa's 4-1 home defeat against Chelsea exposed vulnerabilities and intensified the battle for a top four finish. With several clubs chasing those Champions League places, squad depth and attacking quality will become decisive factors.
That context explains why Villa's recruitment staff are assessing potential additions early. One name emerging strongly from the report is Sunderland winger Chemsdine Talbi .
Villa Recruitment Focus Turns to Talbi
Sports Boom reports that Aston Villa are exploring a move for the Sunderland attacker, who has enjoyed an impressive debut campaign in the Premier League following his move from Club Brugge last summer.

The report notes that Talbi, who has been described as 'elite', joined the Black Cats last summer from Club Brugge in a deal worth £20.5m, and has had a fine debut season in the Premier League, registering three goals and one assist in 1155 minutes of action.

Those numbers tell only part of the story. Talbi's impact has often been defined by his direct running and willingness to attack defenders, qualities that have caught the attention of Villa scouts.
According to the report, Villa are understood to have taken a close look at him, with scouts having visited the Stadium of Light on several occasions this season to watch him.

Recruitment decisions rarely come from a single performance. Repeated scouting trips suggest a serious level of interest.
Emery's Tactical Vision for Villa Attack
Unai Emery has built Aston Villa into one of the Premier League's most organised and tactically intelligent teams. Yet the manager remains keen to add attacking depth.
Sports Boom suggests that Emery views the young winger as an ideal addition.
The Spaniard is said to be a big fan of the 20-year-old and views him as a 'perfect fit' for his squad.

Villa's forward line could change shape this summer. There remain uncertainties surrounding the long term futures of Leon Bailey and loan signing Jadon Sancho . Adding a versatile winger would provide Emery with flexibility across several attacking positions.

Talbi's style appears to align with Villa's approach. He offers pace, dribbling ability and the confidence to attack space behind defences. In a system that relies heavily on quick transitions, those attributes hold clear value.
Transfer Valuation Presents Summer Challenge
Any potential deal would not come cheaply. Sunderland are in a strong position regarding the player's future.
Sports Boom reports that Sunderland are under no pressure to sell the winger, and have him tied to a long-term contract on Wearside. However, their model of buying young players, developing them, and then selling for a large profit means a big offer could see them change their minds.

That model has become increasingly common across modern football. Clubs invest in young talent, develop them quickly and then command significant transfer fees.
The valuation attached to Talbi reflects that strategy.

The report states that Talbi is valued at between €45-55m (£39-47m), and while it's unclear if Villa would be willing to pay that much, they are expected to knock on the door about a deal during the transfer window.
For Villa, the decision will revolve around balancing ambition with financial discipline. Emery has elevated the club rapidly, yet every transfer must still fit within a carefully constructed recruitment plan.

Talbi may represent a gamble in terms of price, but the upside of securing an emerging Premier League talent could make the pursuit worthwhile.
Our View – EPL Index Analysis
Unai Emery has transformed Aston Villa into a club capable of competing with England's elite. Recruitment has been central to that progress. Smart signings, tactical clarity and player development have driven the club's rise.
The idea of targeting Chemsdine Talbi fits that pattern.
Villa supporters have grown accustomed to the club identifying players before their value explodes across the European market. Talbi appears to fit the profile, young, technically gifted and already comfortable in the Premier League.

Fans will also recognise the need for greater attacking depth. The season has shown how demanding the schedule becomes when competing across multiple competitions. Adding another dynamic winger could help Emery rotate his front line more effectively.
However, supporters will also look closely at the reported price. Spending £40m or more on a relatively inexperienced player carries risk.
Still, many Villa fans trust Emery's judgement. If the manager views Talbi as a "perfect fit", supporters are likely to believe the recruitment team has done the necessary work.
The club's trajectory remains upward. Smart additions this summer could strengthen Villa's ability to remain among the Premier League's top challengers.
