The Jacksonville Jaguars are reportedly making an addition to the 53-man roster.
According to Aaron Wilson of KPRC2-Houston, the Jaguars are signing cornerback Alijah Huzzie from the Houston Texans ' practice squad to their active roster.
This move comes as the Jaguars are navigating injuries at cornerback. Both Montaric Brown (hamstring) and Christian Braswell (knee) missed last Sunday's game. Jacksonville went into that contest with only four cornerbacks active.
Huzzie went undrafted in 2025 out of North Carolina and has spent his first year-plus in the NFL with the Texans. Huzzie appeared in one game defensively last season, playing 23 snaps in Week 18 against Indianapolis.
In that contest, he allowed two receptions for eight yards and recorded an interception. Huzzie played 14 special teams snaps over two games as well.
After six seasons at the college level, Huzzie came to the NFL having played over 3,600 career snaps. In his final season, he allowed a completion rate of 47% on 47 targets and 12.9 yards per catch.
Throughout his career, he displayed strong ball production, which includes coming away with 10 interceptions and 27 pass breakups over his final three seasons.
Huzzie has experience playing both outside cornerback and at the nickel position.
